Anyone who knows me very well understands that I am the opposite of a morning person. I am definitely a night owl. I come alive at night. But in the morning? I'm a zombie.
Although I prefer the evening, I can still appreciate and draw beauty inspiration from the wee hours of the morning.
This week, I played around with the idea of creating a sunrise on my eyes. I wanted to use the golden, resonating hues found as the sun begins to rise above the horizon. Sunsets are deep, varying, and brings an end to the day. But sunrises are bright, revitalizing, and invigorates us for the day ahead.
Cue in the actual look. I fluffed in a neutral shade in my crease, and added darker, more richer tones as I went lower towards the eyelid. I wanted to try out a cut crease with this look, to really embrace the theme of a sunrise, but the gold shade I used all over the lid to mimic the sun was a little too dark to really showcase the technique I was attempting to apply. But, it still looked really pretty. So, I'm not mad at it.
To keep up with the golden vibes of the look, I was so excited to try out my birthday present to myself: the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy highlighter. It's literally called "Sun In A Compact" How perfect is this??
The answer is absolutely perfect.
This mesmerizing highlighter is so beautiful to look at. But once it's applied, it becomes magical. It truly looks as if you captured rays of buttery sunlight, and can glide it on the highest points of your face (or anywhere you darn well please).
Overall, this look is saturated with golden light, and I'm in love with how it turned out.
Plus, the lighting in the car later was too perfect for me to resist. It really shows how the highlighter goes on like second skin, and how the golden hue brings the face alive.
