See You At Coachella
Coachella is in full swing; one weekend down, one to go. My Instagram feed is riddled with celebrities and citizens alike, oozing with 'cool kid' vibes and nonchalance at the fact that they are at one of the most coveted and hyped music festival in our current history. Not to mention, Beyoncé was the headliner. Also, can we talk about the fact that she gave the crowd a notice to stay hydrated in preparation for the performance. That ish is crazy.
So much thought and preparation goes into attending music festivals today; especially ones like Coachella. You have to have the perfect look so that you can rack up the likes on social media. It's more about what everyone is going to wear rather than the music. Half of me is annoyed by this, to be honest. But, the other part of me that loves clothes, style, and copious amounts of glitter is thrilled.
Coachella is a place where you can be outlandish and totally out of the box. There are no limits, and that is the draw. As for me, I have been really inspired to go completely outside of my comfort zone and really implement color into my makeup game. I keep scrolling past bright, bold, in-your-face eye makeup, and I decided to be creative.
Coachella was my inspiration for this post. I call this look "Mermaid Tears". I wanted it to look as if a mermaid came out of the water onto land, went for a night out, and this is what she looks like the morning after. Messy, glittery, and really fun. This is a complete departure from what I usually do. I'm usually very scared to try out bright colors, but there was just something about this teal shade that instantly captured my interest.
While this isn't a look that you'll see me wearing very often on a regular day, this is definitely a look that you can rock on Halloween. Costume parties won't be ready for this eye-catching look. There's also an added bonus that I got to slather myself in body and hair glitter; Coachella calls for it, right?
What do y'all think of this crazy makeup? What do you think of the fashion culture of Coachella? Comment down below and tell me your thoughts! I would love to hear from you.
I'll see y'all next week!
