Oui, Ma Chérie
The holidays came and went, and I am left feeling exhausted. But! While I may be nursing a month-long Christmas/NYE hangover, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at one of my favorite fashion moments I had this holiday season.
French style is always going to be in. No matter the decade, the trend, the mood, French girl chic will forever be the epitome of style.
Cue in my red beret.
HOW. STINKING. CUTE.
I have wanted a beret for a while, and it was my friend Hannah (hey girl!!) who finally convinced me to pull the trigger. I felt so powerful and mysterious when I wore this classic staple in French streetwear. I had so many ladies giving me side eye in the restaurant when my mom and I ate lunch. But in my eyes, that's just because they wish they could have the confidence to pull it off. #sorry that I don't let those things dictate what I wear, because otherwise, I would have missed all the opportunities to meet and talk with so many people that complimented me on the hat. They were so sweet and encouraging, and I swore that if they bought a beret, they would automatically feel as if they were Parisian ingénue.
I kept the rest of the outfit sleek and simple with a black turtleneck, black jeans, and some Tory Burch flats. I was feeling major Audrey Hepburn vibes-- and lets be real, she was a goddess among us. I added some gold jewelry for a little depth and flare, and went with a bold red lip to complete the French girl vibe.
If there is anything to be learned from this post, it's to imitate French fashion and confidence. Be bold, be unapologetically you, and love every second of it.
Ps-- How fabulous is my mom in her hot pink faux fur? She was killing the game, like she does every day.
Would any of you wear a beret? Would any of you wear my mom's coat? Sound off in the comments, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I hope your holiday season was a safe and beautiful one! Are y'all ready for Valentine's Day? :)
Thank you for reading!
