Love In The Air

It's that time of the year once again. The smell of sugary confections and saccharine confessions of love hang thickly in the air all around us. At every turn, you see couples hand-in-hand, and young children passing out valentine's to friends and crushes alike.

Although I don't get overly excited about giving and receiving valentines at this stage in my life, I do love embracing the spirit of this bright and airy holiday though my clothes. Pink and red are some of my favorite colors to combine. They are tried and true, and they will never fail to impress.

This is where I derived my inspiration for this outfit; from the candied whimsy that fills the hearts of young lovers all around the world on the fourteenth of February. I wanted to embrace this holiday and combine youthful softness with vivid color that creates a dynamic and overall fun affect.

I love the vintage, almost 1950's pinup edge this outfit exudes. It's my casual take on this usually over-the-top holiday, but there's still a sultry vibe to this whole look. I love the retro feel you get from the red lips, the high-waisted jeans, and the bumble bee detail on the front of my shirt. But mixing in the cheetah print from the bag added a hint of modern flair that really makes the outfit pop. I'm going to wear this all year round, not just on the holiday of love.

There is just something about wearing a bold lip and some red heels; it transforms you into a more confident version of yourself. Now that is what I call a perfect valentine-- self-confidence.

This Valentine's day, I'll most likely be participating in some Galentine's Day festivities with some gal pals. And that is something I greatly look forward to. Love between friends lasts forever!!! What will you be doing on February the 14th? I want to know!! Comment down below with your plans.

I cannot wait until my hair grows back out again, because I am getting some major FOMO when I see any post by Barefoot Blonde. She has posted some dreamy hairstyles for Valentine's day, and I'm #crying because my hair isn't long enough to recreate her looks. Click here to see her personal feed and here for her BFB Hair account; you'll instantly be hooked. Amber is creative, stunning, and her Insta is literal goals. Plus, her children Atticus and Rosie are the cutest kids ever!!!

Ever since I ate some macaroons from Haute Sweets at Legacy Hall in Plano, I have had some major cravings for more. I kind of want to try making some macaroons at home, but I'm nervous because it seems like you need some serious skill. But, I just want to pretend I'm Blair Waldorf, soaking up my sorrows over Chuck bass by eating macaroons in a bathtub. You can't blame me, Blair Waldorf is perfection and definitely is my girl crush. (But don't worry, Serena Van Der Woodsen will always be my No. 1)

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a fun and lovely Valentine's Day!! Eat lots of sweets and feel the love!

-Emily
