Bronzed Smokey Eyes

A little while ago, I was craving some ice. This time, I thought I would bring the heat. I wanted to channel the warm, rich orange tones of a setting summer sun. I was playing around with my 35W palette from Morphe Cosmetics, and I came up with this soft smokey eye.
I'd like to pretend that I'm laying on the beach of Turks and Caicos, listening to the waves ebb and flow, and feeling the warm breeze graze my skin. As I sit here, typing in this chilly weather, that kind of relaxed warmth is all I am craving at the moment.
But, alas, I am here at home instead of on those pristine, sandy beaches. So, I wanted to create eye makeup that would look beautiful against the breathtakingly crystal clear turquoise waters of T&C. I love mixing blues and oranges together; they contrast beautifully with one another, and evoke that sense of summer soaked softness. That's why I decided to play it up and create this warm-toned orange smokey eye, with some copper and gold foil on the center of the lid for an added pop. You know me, I have to be extra-- always.
Is it just me, or does anyone else long for weather that we don't currently have? In the summer, I desperately stare at all of my jeans, sweaters and boots in my closet and wish for a drop in the temperature. But now that I'm in the colder moths, wrapped up in a heavy coat, all I can think about is the days to come when I can just wear shorts and sandals. The grass isn't always greener, right? Does anyone else do that?? No? Just me?Oh.... cool.
Currently, all I can listen to is music from the 40's and 50's. I am loving the sense of nostalgia I get when I listen to Etta James or Bing Crosby. I feel as if I have a gimlet in my gloved hand, dancing the night away in a jazz bar. I always believed that I was born in the wrong time period because I have such a love and appreciation for the past and their clothes/music/way of life.
Pro tip: If you want a lift in your spirits and an instant shot of sophistication in your life, listen to some Dean Martin or Nat King Cole. Trust me, it does wonders.
The song that I have playing on repeat at the moment is "No Other Love" by Perry Como.
As always, thank you so much for reading and joining me on my makeup journey. Comment down below if you have any questions about this look, or where to get the products I used to create it. Tag me here on Instagram with any recreations or with any fun beach pictures if you're on vacay, because I want to live vicariously through you!!
