New Trend Alert: Cobalt Craze
As we move further into this icy 2018, emerging and electrifying trends are starting to take their rightful places within the fashion and beauty community. Some of these trends are new, some are old, but just rebranded to make them seem updated and fresh. One of those being color-blocking; except it won't be called by that moniker. (Because that would be sooooo 2012) We would now call it minimalism and monochromatic. Using only one color and layering it throughout your outfit or your makeup. Whatever you decide to call it, minimalism is here to stay.
Now, I have predicted one color that will reign supreme above all others. Some of you may be saying, "Well DUH, it's going to be Ultra Violet. It's the official Pantone color of the year."
Though that may be true, I personally believe that another, bewitching color will be on the runway, ready-to-wear fashion, and beauty campaigns alike throughout 2018. That color is Cobalt.
I am becoming obsessed with this hue, almost as much as Kanye is obsessed with his own reflection. It's deep, resonating, and rebellious. And I think that perfectly captures the mood for this new year. We want to stand out more and more, and to make a bold statement. Cobalt does just that. Even as I type this post, I'm rocking a deep cobalt polish on my fingertips. It's moody and complex, and it's an absolute dream.
