Christmas Recap
Hey y'all!! Merry Christmas! I cannot believe how fast this year is coming to a close. This year has been full of ups and downs, and it has taught me many things about myself. And one thing I have learned is the importance of confidence. To be bold and proud of who you are. That includes taking some risks; both in the fashion and makeup world. This year, I decided to go for an edgy glam look to celebrate this wonderful holiday, and to be
Christmas-time is filled with glittering lights and warm greetings. What better season to bundle up in some faux fur that even Chanel Oberlin would be jealous of! This ombre coat immediately captured my affections upon first glance. It makes a bold, in-your-face statement, yet still feels cozy and inviting as the temperatures steadily drops here in Dallas.
In order to keep the coat and makeup as the star of the show, I decided to keep it simple with a black shirt, black high-waisted jeans, and some black lace-up heels (similar). Now, don't underestimate the power of these three basics. They may not be flashy, but man, do they deliver much needed balance and depth to this look.
Now on to the fun stuff: the makeup. I wanted to create a classic, glittering, and dreamy makeup look to celebrate this Christmas. I wanted to embody all the ways I feel around this beautiful time of year through my eyes and lips. Classic: a timeless winged liner and cherry lip. Glittering: adding some sliver glitter to the eyelid brightens and draws attention to my eyes. Dreamy: the overall affect of the sparkling eyes and he red lips created a silver screen siren vibe that only heightened my holiday cheer. At every angle, this look glimmered and mesmerized; all that was missing was some mistletoe.
This time of year has always held a special place in my heart. Yes, it is a season where we get to receive gifts, and dress up in pretty things. But, it truly is a season to reflect on the one true gift to humanity-- Jesus Christ. Although I am taking my time to talk about what makeup I wore, and the details of my carefully hand-picked outfit, none of these things genuinely matter in the grand scheme of our human existence. They are fun to indulge in, but they are not to be used as the basis of our identities.
The Lord our God decided that He loved us enough to send His son down to earth in an act of perfect grace and mercy. These are what we should value and hold dear during this beautiful season of joy and thankfulness. I thank Him daily for giving me new mercies, and for the passion and outlet to be able to share my love of fashion and beauty. He has taught me the importance of feeling valued and loved, which daily fosters new growth within my soul, so that I can be the best and most confident version of myself to spread His light wherever I go. Take to heart this wonderful and life-changing news! Hold your loved ones closely as we go into the new year. And remember to always know your worth, your value, and to remain confident in your identity. There can only be one YOU! So you might as well enjoy it!
As always, thank you so much for reading this post! It feels so good to be back in action. Feel free to email me if you have any questions, and tag me on Instagram with any recreations of this look. I love you all!
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
