Draw The Line: A Nail DIY

Ever since I was in middle school, I have been known to obsessively paint my nails. You will never see me with bare nails. I just can't do it.

It started out as a way to stop myself from biting my nails, but it quickly turned into a love affair.

I have a massive collection of nail polishes (sorry not sorry) and recently, I have been dabbling in some nail designs.

I was inspired to try this line design as we're going to fall, and Fashion Month is in full swing. I used Essie's 'Ladylike' and 'Sweet Souffle`'. The first is cool neutral mauve, and the latter is a white polish with a duo chrome that shifts from pink to orange. Such beautiful colors to transition from Summer to Fall.

Keep reading the step-by-step process below and see how you can recreate this nail look!

1. Paint two coats of Ladylike and wait for it to dry completely. It's extremely important to let those fully dry so that it won't smudge once you apply the white polish.

2. Paint either a vertical or horizontal line in white polish. As you can see, I kept the design on my pointer, middle, and ring finger. You can choose to do it on only one accent nail, all your nails, or alternate. You do you, boo. Dip a long nail design brush in the white nail polish, then gently draw one solid line. I got my nail design brush kit from Ulta for $14. Repeat this step as much as you want, while alternating the direction of the line. Customize this to your own personal style!

3. Paint a glossy, gel top coat to seal the deal, honey. This locks in the design, makes it look vibrant and you are ready to go!

I love this fresh, young DIY look. It is the best of both worlds. The colors are neutral and serene, but the design gives a feminine edge. A good mani is the best accessory to any outfit.

Thanks for reading!
