I like looking back to the basics every once in a while, not getting too bogged down by the fast-paced fashion industry which changes daily. There is a certain level of comfort pulling out that perfect pair of comfy jeans that you know will never fail you.

But then there are times when I want to add just a hint of color or pizzazz to this basic look. That's where these apricot mules come in.

I recently found these beauties while shopping with my friend Kailey (Hi Kails!). They are currently having an end of the season sale which means you can take an additional 30% off all sale items! Pretty great deal right there, especially since Madewell can be a bit pricey.

Once I saw these on the display, I was immediately hooked. I quickly snatched up my size and ran to the register, instantly running possible outfit options through my mind's eye. Later that evening when I got home, I put them on and wore them for hours.

Going into the late summer months, and into Fall, burnished apricot will be the color to look out for. It is the deep, moody sister to the bubbly and bright blush that has taken fashion by storm.

Mules are perfect for any season or sense of style. They can be preppy, and edgy. But most of all, they are comfy. This trend is perfect for back-to-school style or for the corporate woman. You can dress them down, with the white shirt and jeans, or dress them up with an evening dress.
