Milkmaid Meets Texas, Honey.

These braids give me LIFE! As the days get hotter, I want to keep my hair up and out of the way. It allows me to remain cool as I run errands or catch up with some friends. I also love that it makes me feel like I am frolicking around the hills that are alive in The Sound of Music. (One of my favorite movies of all time, by the way) But, we all know, that no matter what, I'll always be a Texas girl! This effortless look is my fashion interpretation of a blend of styles and cultures that can be found here in my beloved Texas. I love taking a simple, neutral dress and pairing it with bright colors to add some razzle dazzle. Summer is all about being bright and fun, and fashion should always be fun!

I love the asymmetry on the hem of the skirt; creating angles and cuts that make the eye dance. These angles on the skirt add a high fashion element to a simple, t-shirt dress. I then paired this dress with a beaded choker by Sugarfix X BaubleBar. This jewelry collaboration is so affordable and beautiful. They have a variety of colors and textures, and honestly, I have such a hard time resisting the temptation to purchase everything in the collection. Another bonus, it's sold exclusively with Target, aka, heaven on earth.

Next, I slipped on my rose gold platform sneakers. These things are so comfortable, it's stupid. I get compliments on these bad boys all the time! They are from Hazel & Olive and are $20!! (go to their website and look at all their new shoes and swimwear, they're all perfect for summer!)

Lastly, I wanted to add yet another bright hue to the ensemble, so I chose my teal crossbody bag by Kate Spade. A few years ago, I lived in San Marcus, Tx. And the premium outlets nearly cleaned out my bank account. This was one of my steals from the Kate Spade outlet, and I will always love the studded bow detail. Love, love, love this bag. Any pop of color will do!

I love being able to take a simple outfit and add some fun and funky pieces just to show my personality. Fashion should always be an expression of who you are, and we should never be afraid to take chances with clothes and hair. Bottom line; HAVE FUN!!!
