The Outfit That Has "Bewitched me, body and soul..."

If anyone knows me well, they know that I have a deep, irrevocable love for Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The way in which Mr. Darcy painfully and achingly loves Lizzy feeds my obsession of the novel. Kiera Knightly as Lizzy Bennett in the 2005 motion picture is my icon. Her wit and humor throughout the film proves to anyone who watches that she was perfectly cast for this character.

In my heart, I will always be waiting for my own Mr. Darcy to come vie for my heart, emerging through the mist of the early morning.... A girl can dream, right?

But this specific scene in the movie is the inspiration for this outfit that I have put together. Darcy emerges from the mist and fog of the early morning. He has walked all the way from town to come to Elizabeth and apologize for everything his aunt has put her through, and ends up declaring his love for her (again).

Every time I wear this outfit, I feel as if I am in Regency England, feeling the cool breeze and hearing a handsome man say that I have "bewitched [him] body and soul...".

This look is incredibly easy to recreate! Just look for any type of wrap or flowy kimono that can softly billow in the wind. This cream, lace-accented wrap I am wearing reminded me of Darcy's sleep shirt, and his long coat that trails behind him amidst the foggy pasture. I paired this with dark wash jeans, and cognac riding boots, like the ones Darcy wears throughout the film.

This look is incredibly romantic and feminine. It is perfect for church, or for a date night. I love when I can combine two loves in my life: Pride and Prejudice and fashion. That's the beauty of fashion; I can draw from literature, pop culture, and other art forms, and create a look that is a physical representation of my personality.

Fashion should always be fun, and should always be unique and personalized to every individual. Don't be afraid to find your own personal style, and to stand out from the crowd! Individuality is intriguing, endearing, and engaging. Embrace your passions, and project that into your personal style.

Any other Pride and Prejudice fans out there? Let me know how you like this look, and tag me on Instagram in any recreations! Be confidant and be YOU! And, please read/watch P&P if you haven't already...as a personal favor for me. You won't be sorry.

Thank you for reading!
