Block Party

Hello beauties!!

I am so fortunate to go to such a large and valued institution such as Texas A&M University. I am equally as fortunate to be a part of such a kind, giving, and charitable sorority such as Sigma Phi Lambda.

Our chapter hosts an annual Block Party on campus, welcoming anyone who is willing to attend to come together, drink coffee, meet some new people, and listen to some local musicians. It is such a sweet time of rest and growth with some ~cool beans~ in my organization. (Get it? Cool beans was the theme) This is also an event to spread the love and light of Jesus Christ to the students of A&M in a way that is natural and comfortable.

Every year, we book one major headlining performer, so as to attract more people to our event. And this year, our amazing officers persuaded the ever-talented Cody Fry to perform. OK, WOW! He is such a cool, sweet and talented soul. You should really look up his music, it's some pretty good stuff.

After he performed, I got the chance to meet and talk with him. I had a real fangirl moment, seeing as I have been a fan of his music for a while. He is such a nice and genuine guy, and was not freaked when I awkwardly asked if he would mind if I filmed him saying hi for my snapchat story. (lol) So needless to say, that was a major highlight of the night.

But overall, the best part of the evening was getting the chance to bond with my friends in my sorority. We got to come together on a school night, forget about our worries for the time-being, and sip some java while listening to the smooth singing of Mr. Fry and some other extremely talented musicians.

These ladies are too genuine/sweet/amazing to accurately put into words. I treasure every moment I have with these sweet gals. I will always look back fondly on that night, laughing at the memories with my sweet girls. I'm so happy that I get to spend my last year in college with this group of women that the Lord has so graciously placed beside me. Without them, I would feel so lonely, but thankfully, they make me feel appreciated and loved.

Thank you to my Phi Lamb officers, Cody Fry, and my lovey friends!! And thank you for sharing this journey with me.

-Emily
